How You Can Get Involved With The Mission

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers at the Eureka Rescue Mission are some of the warmest, kindest, most generous people we know. Our volunteers provide valuable services to our guests. In return, they receive the satisfaction of knowing they are personally helping homeless and needy people create positive, lasting change in their lives.

We are always looking for volunteers to help serve three Holidays meals a year: Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas!

If you are interested, please contact our office at: (707) 445-3787

Other Volunteer Opportunities Consist Of:

  • Thrift Store
  • Free Store
  • Men’s Shelter
  • Women & Children’s Emergency Shelter

Volunteers are considered for roles according to need, availability, gifting and age. Our goal is to best match volunteers with the opportunities available and to meet the needs of the guests and residents we serve.

Group Projects

Groups (corporate, church, school and others) are always welcome to help with our holiday meal services, as well as assisting us in our emergency shelter. Please call (707) 445-3787 for other ideas or to schedule a specific date.

Not able to start volunteering immediately?

Host a Drive (Urgent Needs, Food, or Hygiene Kits): You can hold a drive and collect needed items at your school, church, place of employment, community center, or neighborhoods. It’s an easy and very significant way to support the Eureka Rescue Mission! For example, you can organize a drive for:

  • Canned goods/non-perishables
  • Hygiene items
  • Diapers
  • Coats
  • Towels
  • New underwear and socks for men, women and children
  • Clothing in general
  • Seasonal items such as:
    • School supplies
    • Toys for Christmas for the kids at our Women’s and Children’s Shelter

Please drop off your collected items at the Eureka Rescue Mission Men’s Shelter located at 110 Second St. in Eureka or call us for a pickup at (707) 443-2523 or (707) 443-4551. For more information, please call our office at (707) 445-3787 or e-mail us at

Thank you for helping serve the less fortunate in our community.
